Hi! I’m your new RIVTA President, Kerry Walsh and I am both humbled and excited to step into this role on behalf of all Veterinary Technicians in Rhode Island. Though my CVT journey began at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists shortly after graduating from Mount Ida College, I found passion in educating and ended up at New England Institute of Technology’s Vet Tech program, first as a lab assistant, and now as an instructor. Through my experiences in the classroom and clinical settings, I have witnessed firsthand the passion and dedication of veterinary technicians. Now, as President, I am committed to amplifying your voices and advocating for your vital role in animal care with the help of the RIVTA Executive Board. By increasing the public’s knowledge of veterinary technicians, I hope to make a positive change in the mental health of veterinary professionals. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead alongside you all as we navigate the path ahead, towards a brighter future in veterinary medicine.
