Continuing Education Guidelines
RIVTA Requires 12 hours of Continuing Education (CE) credits per year to maintain certification
- 6 hours must be in person, the other 6 may be online.
- RACE Approved CE can count towards your in-person hours. No need to stress about going to conferences if its not your scene.
- CE must be an appropriate educational level for Veterinary Technicians, and should not be marketed towards Pet Owners or Groomers.
- Online CE cannot be repeated once submitted for CE credit
- CE Credit hours must be logged in a member's profile with certificates for review for certification under Continuing Ed prior to submitting the form for renewal.
- FOR LARGE CONFERENCES SUCH AS VMX, AVMA, AVTE, RIVTA SYMPOSIUM, RIVMA SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR, ETC: A Detailed CE list MUST be provided, and you MUST FILL OUT THE FORM WITH HOURS ATTENEDED. See example of a detailed conference certificate below.
- If you were not provided one, you MUST reach out to the organization that hosted the conference to learn how to acquire the detailed certificate from them directly.
- You can submit multiple hours of CE with a single CE certificate, you do not have to write out all the lecture titles individually.
